Product description

The pipe and couplings of polyethylene (PE) liner reinforced by aramid cords embedded in PE and covered by a PE cover, are approved for transportation of water for industrial purposes.

The design of the pipe body and couplings fulfils the requirements for low safety class applications with a design life of 20 years and water as a fluid, provided the stated limitations of use are accounted for.

· The pipe body is qualified only for water service.

· The application is for low safety class, i.e., small possibility for personal injuries and pollution, small economic consequences, negligible risk to life.

· The outer cover shall be inspected during operation for possible damage from the outer environment.

· If the pipe is buried the relevant standards for un-reinforced PE pipe shall be used to prevent buckling.

· Cars should not drive over the RTP pipe to prevent point loads from sharp stones.

· Lightning protection should be applied if relevant for the application.

· The RTP is only qualified for PE grade PE 100 and aramid tape made of grade PE 80 with fibres 3360 dtex x 5 Z45.

· The RTP has not been qualified for fatigue load conditions (cyclic pressure).

· The pipes are not fire resistant. Fire protection has to be obtained on the system level, if necessary.

Fabrication

The pipes and couplings shall be produced under the quality system and with the fabrication parameters and quality control tests as described in DNV technical report No.: 2002-3135, rev. 1 "Reinforced thermoplastic pipes 4" pipe body process monitoring specifications.

Fabrication survey carried out 2004-05-25, (ref. No. 7240000-J-2996).

Marking of product

The product shall be marked with design limitations and product designation and manufacturers name and address:

- Diameter and Charge No.

- Production date

- M 480 or 570

- Max. Temp.

- Traceability for every produced meter of pipe

- Manufacturer name and country

Certificate retention survey

For retention of the Type Approval, the DNV-surveyor shall perform a survey every second year and before the expiry date of this certificate - to verify that the conditions for the type approval are complied with.
