CHANGES

General

This document supersedes DNV-OS-C105, October 2008.

Main changes

Sec. 1 Introduction

In item A104, acceptance of API RP 2T has been included as an alternative standard, following the WSD methodology.

Sec. 5 Global Performance

In guidance notes to C108, reference has been made to API RP 2T for long term response based analysis.

Sec. 6 Ultimate Limit States (ULS)

In guidance notes to B100, 2nd important squeeze/pry load has been introduced.
In B105, earthquake analyses criteria have been introduced.
C200 Air Gap, has been aligned with the Air Gap requirement as per the API RP 2T requirement.
Scantling and Weld connection have been moved from original location in F to D.
In E Tendons, a new item E108 has been added for minimum Tendon Tension to align with API RP2T requirements.
In E200, reference to API RP2T has been included for better guidance in the design and acceptance as well as safety factors for Tendon Pipes.

Sec. 7 Fatigue Limit States (FLS)

A new item A106 has been introduced for single fatigue event for structures (near tropical environment) susceptible to low cyclic / high stress loading for rare extreme events (hurricane) of extended duration.

Sec. 8 Accidental Limit States (ALS)

A new item C104 has been introduced with Minimum Tendon tension requirement for ALS condition.

App. A Certification of Tendon System

In E300 Bottom Tendon Interface (BTI): added that no disengagement is allowed even during negative tendon tension and the provision of a mechanical latch to prevent disengagement.
